The magnesium ingot price was unable to sustain the upward step as it did in July. After a short peaceful period in early August, the price started to move down quickly. The price in Shaanxi showed a sharper downturn than that in Shanxi, which made the price gap between the two main magnesium ingot markets widen from RMB300/t to RMB500/t. Buyers were attracted by the price decrease and the market became more active.
