The company mainly produces magnesium alloy, ferrosilicon, carbon, special steel as well as flux and so on by taking advantage of the superior resources, such as quartz stones, dolomites as well as coals in Kumul area.
It is said that the company adopted advanced technologies of sleeve shaft kiln burning and thermal restoration. On the other hand, the first phase of the project with annual output of 20,000 tons magnesium alloys and 300,000 tons carbons had started in July, 2008 and was completed by now . In the first two months of this year, the company’s magnesium ingot output got to 7 . 54 million tons with realized sales revenues of RMB11 . 28 million, while the carbon output of the company reached 20,600 tons with realized sales revenues of RMB7 . 26 million.
The second as well as third phase of the project would start in 2011 with predicted construction time of 3 years.
After the completion of the third phase, the company’s annual production of magnesium ingot, ferrosilicon as well as carbon could reach to 10,000 tons, 10,000 tons and 1.20 million tons respectively, which would promote the development of the metallurgical industry in local areas.
