Huodu New Materials commissions 300ktpa phase of prebaked anode project

On August 19, Inner Mongolia Huodu New Materials Co., Ltd. brought the first phase (300,000tpa) of its 600,000tpa prebaked anode project into full operation. Once fully operational, the project will meet the prebaked anode needs of primary aluminum producers in the Holingol region, help close a 1-million-tonne carbon shortfall in eastern Inner Mongolia, and support the local aluminum industry's shift toward greener, higher-end development.
The company noted that the second 300,000tpa phase is scheduled to come online on October 19, while design work for the third 600,000tpa phase has begun, with total capacity expected to reach 1.2 million tonnes by 2027.
