Tianyuan Group starts trial production at Dingjia phosphate mine

Mabian Infinite Mining Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Yibin Tianyuan Group Co., Ltd., has passed safety inspections for its 900,000tpa Dingjia phosphate mine (Phase II) which is now in trial production. With a total investment of RMB179 million (USD24.93 million), the project took over 30 months to complete and, when fully operational, is expected to secure raw material supply for Tianyuan Group's lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode material operations.
In 2024, Tianyuan Group produced 24,800 tonnes of LFP, generating RMB543 million (USD75.63 million) in sales. The company's 100,000tpa LFP project is ramping up, with the first phase of 50,000tpa starting production and sales in August 2024 and the second phase of 50,000tpa expected to come on stream by June 2025, and the precursor project is already in trial production. Meanwhile, Tianyuan Group's another subsidiary Tiancheng Lithium has also started its 100,000tpa LFP project, with the first phase of 50,000tpa currently under construction. Tianyuan plans to expand total LFP production capacity to 300,000tpa.
