Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Zone sees steady industrial growth

From January to May, the industrial economy of Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone maintained steady growth. The industrial added value above the designated size increased by 14.8% year-on-year, 2.5 percentage points higher than the citywide average, marking 54 consecutive months of double-digit growth.
The industrial added value from the rare earth sector grew by 16.9%, contributing 5.4 percentage points to the overall industrial growth, while the new energy sector expanded by 38%, contributing 7.1 percentage points.
In terms of output, rare earth magnetic materials reached 15,300 tonnes in the first five months, up by 23.8% YoY, rare earth compounds totaled 23,100 tonnes, up by 14.6% YoY, and single rare earth metals reached 2,100 tonnes, up by 16% YoY.
