Zhongke Electric to build lithium battery anode material plant in Oman

Hunan Zhongke Electric Co., Ltd. has announced plans to invest in a lithium battery anode material project in Oman through Zhongke Shinzoom (HK) Holdings Co., Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company's majority-owned subsidiary Hunan Zhongke Xingcheng Graphite Co., Ltd.
A new company, Zhongke Xingcheng Sohar New Material Technology Co., Ltd., will be set up to develop an integrated production base with an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes of anode materials.
The total planned investment will be up to RMB8 billion (USD1.11 billion), and the project will consist of two phases, each with an annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes and an expected construction period of 36 months.
To ensure smooth progress of its overseas expansion, the company will postpone construction of its previously approved 100,000 tpa anode material project in Morocco.
