China BSK launches lithium battery recycling project in Jiangsu

China BSK New Energy Limited has signed an agreement to invest a total of 3.2 billion yuan (about 444 million US dollars) to build its "Zero-Carbon Plant for High-Value Recycling of Power Batteries" in Huaian Industrial Park, Jiangsu Province.
Once completed, the plant will be capable of processing 300,000 tonnes of end-of-life power batteries annually, producing 20,000 tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate and 100,000 tonnes of recycled battery-grade iron phosphate. Construction is set to begin in June 2025, with commissioning expected in May 2026.
