On April 15, Sinomine Resources announced the start of stripping work at Kitumba Copper Mine in Zambia, marking an important step toward achieving Zambia's goal of producing 3 million tonnes of copper annually by 2030.
The project is scheduled to begin ore feeding in July 2026 and start copper production in September of the same year, with the goal of reaching full capacity by December.
Following the launch of the USD560 million copper mining project by Sinomine's Kitumba Mining Company in Mumbwa, Zambia's mining industry has received a significant boost. The project is expected to substantially increase copper production and contribute to the country's growth in the renewable energy sector.
