Xinjiang Jinsheng holds expert review meeting for magnesium alloy project

On March 31, an expert review meeting was held in Urumqi for a magnesium alloy technological upgrade and circular economy development project developed by Xinjiang Jinsheng Magnesium Co., Ltd., focusing on evaluating the project's feasibility and technical solutions.
The project is centered around the goals of intelligent manufacturing, low-carbon development, and circular utilization. It aims to upgrade magnesium alloy production processes, enhance comprehensive resource utilization, and optimize environmental protection technologies. By introducing advanced automated production lines and clean production technologies, the project is expected to increase annual production capacity by 35,000 tonnes, reduce energy consumption by 40%, and achieve an industrial water recycling rate of over 95%. All environmental performance indicators are projected to exceed national standards. In addition, an innovative "multi-stage waste gas treatment + waste heat recovery" system will be implemented to convert process heat into clean energy, with an anticipated reduction in carbon emissions by over 10,000 tonnes annually.
During the review, experts offered suggestions such as enhancing the capacity, process, and equipment configuration of the existing production system and improving the localization of key equipment to reduce long-term operation and maintenance costs.
The project has received strong policy support, including over 10 million yuan (1.36 million US dollars) from Xinjiang's key R&D and tech transformation funds. The local government is also backing the project with fast-track land approvals and tax breaks. As the project moves forward, Hami City is set to further consolidate its leading position in Xinjiang's magnesium-based new materials sector, injecting fresh momentum into the region's mining industry transformation and the extension of the new energy industry chain.
