Zijin Mining sets new record for annual copper production

Zijin Mining has released its 2024 annual results, reporting record-high resource volumes, production, and operating indicators for key minerals such as copper and gold
After producing more than one million tonnes of mined copper last year, the company continued its growth with 1.07 million tonnes produced in 2024, up by 6% YoY. This achievement ranks Zijin Mining among the world's top four copper producers, reflecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24%. The company remains one of the fastest-growing major copper producers globally. According to data from the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, China's total mined copper production in 2024 was 1.643 million tonnes, with Zijin Mining's output accounting for 65% of the national total.
The company also achieved record-high gold production, mining 73 tonnes in 2024, an 8% YoY increase, and its gold output CAGR for the past five years reached 12%. Additionally, the company produced 450,000 tonnes of mined zinc (lead) and 9,000 tonnes of mined molybdenum throughout the year.
As of the end of 2024, Zijin Mining' s total measured, indicated and inferred mineral resources included 110.37 million tonnes of copper, 3,972.53 tonnes of gold, 12.98 million tonnes of zinc (lead), 31,836.01 tonnes of silver, and 17.88 million tonnes of lithium (LCE).
