On March 1, Nanshan Aluminum kicked off construction of an aluminum alloy recycling project, which will build an advanced recycling facility that transforms aluminum scrap into high value-added secondary aluminum alloy, which will be used as a substitute for liquid aluminum
The recycling project also include an aluminum ingot production line with a capacity of 240,000 tonnes per annum. When fully operational, it is expected to achieve an annual sales revenue of RMB4 . 6 billion (USD631 million).
The aluminum ingot products from the project will then be directly utilized in subsequent rolling processes to produce high-performance aluminum alloy sheets. In line with sustainability efforts, any waste or scraps generated during production will be seamlessly reintegrated into the recycling system, ensuring efficient resource utilization and minimizing material waste.
