Guangxi Long'an receives EIA approval for alumina and aluminum products project

Guangxi Long'an Hetai New Materials Co., Ltd. has received EIA approval for its green new materials production base project from Department of Ecology and Environment of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
With a total investment of RMB6.2 billion (USD851 million), the project will build production lines for alumina, gallium metal, and deep-processed aluminum products.
The alumina production line mainly consumes imported bauxite as raw material to produce alumina through Bayer process, with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tonnes. The production also has a recycling system for gallium metal, with an annual production capacity of 50 tonnes of gallium metal 99.99%.
The deep-processed aluminum products production lines would be able to produce 100,000tpa of high-purity aluminum, 100,000tpa of electronic grade aluminum foil, 100,000tpa of automotive composite, and 4GW/a silicon-based PV modules.
