Qinyang Carbon to build 500ktpa prebaked anode project in Yanshan

On February 10, Qinyang Carbon Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Dushi Group, signed a cooperation agreement with the government of Yanshan County in Yunnan province to invest more than RMB800 million (USD109 million) to build a 500,000tpa prebaked anode project at Yanshan Green Aluminum Innovation Park.
When fully operational, the project would achieve a total annual output value of over RMB2 billion (USD274 million) along with tax contribution of RMB250 million (USD34.22 million), while creating around 600 jobs. Upon completion, the project will effectively fill the gap in the high-end prebaked anode market in Southwest China and provide a stable raw material supply for aluminum smelters in Yunnan and neighboring provinces.
As the core area of "China Green Aluminum Valley" in Yunnan, Yanshan has attracted leading primary aluminum producers such as Weiqiao and Shenhuo, with primary aluminum production capacity exceeding 4 million tonnes in 2024. The prebaked anode project will enhance the complete industrial chain spanning bauxite, alumina, primary aluminum, and aluminum processing, creating a closed-loop system that reduces costs and improves efficiency in the regional aluminum industry.
As China's largest private carbon producer, Dushi Group has accelerated its nationwide expansion in recent years. When the Yanshan project comes on stream, Dushi Group's total carbon production capacity will surpass 3 million per annum, further solidifying its industry-leading position.
