Xinjiang East Hope Nonferrous Metal Co., Ltd. plans to swap primary aluminum production capacity of 160,000tpa by building 118 500KA prebaked anode electrolytic cells at Xinjiang Zhundong Economic-Technological Development Park, with construction scheduled to begin in May 2025 and new capacity to come on stream in March 2026, according to the Industry and Information Technology Department of Xinjiang.
As part of the capacity swap scheme, the company will shut down its existing 118 cells of 500KA with the same production capacity by February 2026.
