Fugu's magnesium output up 33.64% YoY in first eight months

China's Fugu county saw a total production value from industrial enterprises above designated size of RMB78.61 billion (USD10.97 billion) in the first eight months of 2024, down by 3.2% from the prior year period, with the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size up by 9.3%, according to the local statistics bureau.
From January to August, Fugu produced about 63.62 million tonnes of raw coal, up by 3.03% YoY, 8.48 million tonnes of washed coal, down by 1.89% YoY, 5.86 million tonnes of semi-coke, down by 3.69% YoY, 206,300 tonnes of calcium carbide, down by 14.86% YoY, 440,200 tonnes of ferroalloys, down by 3.46% YoY, and 349,200 tonnes of magnesium metal, up by 33.64% YoY.
