Houying Group launches 300ktpa Mg-based alloys project

On October 28, Houying Group initiated a high-performance magnesium-based alloys utilization project with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tonnes in Haicheng, China.
With a total investment of RMB2.9 billion (USD406 million), the project will cover a land area of nearly 800,000 sq.m. and utilize the company's existing production line for caustic calcined magnesia by equipping it with new production furnaces and environmental protection facilities.
When fully operational, the project is expected to achieve annual sales revenue of RMB13.94 billion (USD1.96 billion), along with tax contribution of RMB1.28 billion (USD179 million) and profit of RMB3.6 billion (USD503 million). The project is expected to promote the transition of magnesite industry in Haicheng.
