Prices of wire rod in major regions of China went down during the month on weak demand, and those of rebar went up mainly supported by the price increase in futures market. In addition, Chinese export prices of wire rod and rebar moved up slightly during the month because of RMB appreciation.
In the international market, prices of wire rod and rebar in Malaysia, Thailand and India dropped during the month on soft demand, and those in Vietnam rose mainly supported by high prices of steel mills.
