China's alumina output rises 3.5% YoY in Aug

In August 2024, China produced about 7.34 million tonnes of alumina, up by 3.5% YoY, 3.73 million tonnes of primary aluminum, up by 2.5% YoY, 1.35 million tonnes of aluminum alloy, up by 5.5% YoY, and 5.82 million tonnes of aluminum products, up by 4.9% YoY, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
From January to August, China's alumina output totaled 55.88 million tonnes, up by 2.4% YoY, primary aluminum production reached 28.91 million tonnes, up by 5.1% YoY, aluminum alloy output increased by 8.7% YoY to 10.16 million tonnes, and aluminum products output increased by 8.5% YoY to 44.46 million tonnes.
