On August 16, Sinomine announced the start of construction on Kitumba copper mine project in Zambia.
Located about 210km northwest of Lusaka, Kitumba project has mining claims covering around 248 square kilometers, with good road infrastructures.
The Kitumba project is estimated to hold 27.9 million tonnes of proven copper mineral resources containing 614,000 tonnes of copper at an average grade of 2 . 2%, according to a 2015 report by independent third-party organization.
