South Manganese to build manganese slag disposal project

South Manganese Investment Limited announced a plan to build a new production line capable of processing 1.5 million tonnes per annum of electrolytic manganese slag through calcination and desulfurization processes, in a bid to solve the disposal problem relating to the residue produced in the process of manganese electrolysis.
The project adopts dry and high-temperature method to realize harmless treatment of manganese slag, which is subject to standard for pollution control on the non-hazardous industrial solid waste storage and landfill (GB 18599-2020) and also meets the requirement for clean production of electrolytic manganese, paving the way for cyclic utilization of manganese slag.
Aside from making production clean for South Manganese, the project would also undertake the harmless disposal of manganese slag produced by other companies.
