Benyuan Shidai to build 200ktpa silicon metal project

Benyuan Shidai (Chifeng) Industrial Co., Ltd. plans to build a 200,000tpa silicon metal project in Aohan Banner of Inner Mongolia, according to notice released by the local environmental authority.
With planned investment of around RMB4.81 billion (USD665 million), the project will mainly build twelve 33000kVA submerged arc furnaces, a UHPC production system, a 1×35MW cogeneration generator set, as well as associated facilities. When fully operational, it will be capable of producing 200,000 tonnes of silicon metal annually.
