China's Shanxi province has issued an implementation plan for speeding up the construction of a waste recycling system.
The province aims to build a preliminary comprehensive waste recycling system that covers all sectors and stages by 2025, with the annual processing capacity of major recycling companies for recyclable resources, such as iron and steel scrap, aluminum scrap, copper scrap, lead scrap, zinc scrap, waste paper, waste plastics, waste rubber and waste glass, to exceed 19 million tonnes, and the resource recycling industry projected to reach an annual output value of 110 billion yuan (15.13 billion U . By 2023, a well-functioning waste recycling system is expected to become fully operational, with a higher share of recycled material in the supply of raw materials.
