Fugu's Jan-May magnesium production rises 9.9% YoY

China's Fugu county saw a total production value from industrial enterprises above designated size of RMB48 billion (USD6.61 billion) in the first five months of 2024, down by 10.2% from the prior year period, with the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size up by 7.9%, according to the local statistics bureau.
From January to May, Fugu produced about 38.75 million tonnes of raw coal, up by 1.5% YoY, 5.38 million tonnes of washed coal, down by 5.8% YoY, 3.65 million tonnes of semi-coke, down by 6.9% YoY, 135,300 tonnes of calcium carbide, down by 12.7% YoY, 272,600 tonnes of ferroalloys, down by 14.2% YoY, and 209,400 tonnes of magnesium metal, up by 9.9% YoY.
