Tibet Mining announced that the phase two of Zabuye salt lake lithium extraction project, with an annual production capacity of 9,600 tonnes of battery grade lithium carbonate, started trial production on June 30, 2024, and the construction is underway for associated power facilities
Zabuye phase two project, using membrane separation and evaporative crystallization process to extract lithium and potassium, is designed to produce 9,600t of battery grade lithium carbonate and 2,400t of industrial grade lithium carbonate annually. It also produces byproducts with annual capacity of 156,000t of potassium chloride and 200t of rubidium-cesium salts.
