Fugu's magnesium production up 7.2% in Jan-Apr

China's Fugu county achieved a total production value from industrial enterprises above designated size of RMB38.4 billion (USD5.29 billion) in the first four months of 2024, down by 12.3% from the year ago period, with the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size up by 6.5%, according to the local statistics bureau.
From January to April, Fugu produced about 30.38 million tonnes of raw coal, up by 3.6% YoY, 4.37 million tonnes of washed coal, down by 9.9% YoY, 2.92 million tonnes of semi-coke, down by 6.2% YoY, 111,100 tonnes of calcium carbide, down by 20.9% YoY, 213,300 tonnes of ferroalloys, down by 18% YoY, and 166,900 tonnes of magnesium metal, up by 7.2% YoY.
