Baotou's rare earth compounds production up 170% in Jan-May

China's Baotou city achieved a 15% increase in industrial added value above the designated size for the first five months of 2024, recording a two-digit growth for 45 consecutive months, according to official data.
From January to May, Baotou's production of polysilicon and monocrystal silicon increased by 71.2% and 81.5% respectively from the year ago period. The production of rare earth ores, rare earth metals (single element) and rare earth compounds rose by 12.1%, 32.6% and 170% year on year respectively.
