Baotou Huaxing to build 8.2ktpa rare earth metals project

Baotou Huaxing Rare Earths Technology Co., Ltd. has received approval from the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Inner Mongolia to expand rare earth metals production capacity.
The company plans to build a 8,200tpa rare earth metals production line within its own plant at Baotou National Rare Earth High and New Technology Industrial Development Zone. The new production line will adopt the fluoride-oxide system for electrolytic preparation of rare earth metals, which mainly include PrNd metals and CePrNd metals.
The total investment for the project is estimated at RMB101 million (USD13.96 million) and the construction is expected to take 12 months.
