Guizhou Red Star announces Q1 EMD production and sales

Guizhou Red Star Development Co., Ltd. reported production of 3,791 tonnes of electrolytic manganese dioxide (EMD), 1,741 tonnes of high-purity manganese sulfate and 585 tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate in the first quarter of 2024, and the quarterly sales included 2,918 tonnes of EMD, 3,241 tonnes of high-purity manganese sulfate and 590 tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate.
Guizhou Red Star owns two manganese carbonate mines through its sub-subsidiaries Guizhou Songtao Hongxing Electrochemical Mining Co., Ltd. and Wanshan Pengcheng Mining Co., Ltd. In 2023, the two mines, with a total production capacity of around 250,000tpa, achieved annual production of 114,200 tonnes and Guizhou Red Star reported annual production of 17,200 tonnes of electrolytic manganese dioxide, which is mainly used as a raw material for primary battery and LMO cathode.
