BEIJING (Asian Metal) 1 May 24 - Most suppliers firmed their prices and kept their sales stable since last week
A producer in Sichuan reported that they offered RMB7,700/t (USD1,064/t) Inc-VAT EXW D/P for cerium oxide 99.9%min today, and agreed to sell the material at RMB7,500/t (USD1,036/t), but no deals have been closed by far. "We concluded many deals last week at prices around RMB7,500/t (USD1,036/t), with a total volume of abut 150t," the producer said, adding that downstream consumers purchase steadily at the moment, so they don't plan to adjust the price for the time being . The producer reckoned that prices for Chinese cerium oxide would keep unchanged at the current level in early May.
With an annual production capacity of 11,000t, the producer produced about 900t last month and expects to produce about 950t this month. They hold about 500t of stocks now.
A trader in Shandong disclosed, "We closed many deals for cerium oxide 99.9%min last week at prices around RMB7,500/t (USD1,036/t), with a total volume of about 40t." Today, they still offered RMB7,500/t (USD1,036/t) Inc-VAT EXW D/P for cerium oxide 99 . 9%min and would not sell the material at lower prices . The trader said that downstream consumers place orders normally at present, so prices for Chinese cerium oxide might keep stable in the first week after the May Day holiday.
With a regular monthly trade volume of 150t, the trader expects to sell about 180t this month, up from about 150t last month. They hold no stock now.
