BEIJING (Asian Metal) 29 Apr 24 - Over the past two weeks, fluorspar prices in China moved up and aluminum fluoride producers raised prices. Current mainstream prices for aluminum fluoride 61%min in China keep at RMB10,100-10,300/t (USD1,394-1,421/t) EXW, up by RMB350/t (USD48/t) from late last week and producers anticipate higher prices in the coming two weeks due to the reduced supply.
A Shandong-based aluminum fluoride 61%min producer anticipates that the most competitive price would reach around RMB11,000/t (USD1,518/t) delivered early next month, as the best price they received for fluorspar 97%min touches RMB3,700/t (USD511/t) delivered now, up by RMB100/t (USD14/t) from two weeks ago. "We sold around 2,000t of aluminum fluoride to a major local buyer at around RMB9,850/t (USD1,359/t) delivered T/T 100% down early this month," says the source, who quotes RMB11,000/t (USD1,518/t) delivered now and holds no stock.
With the production capacity of 55,000tpy and two production lines, they produced around 4,500t in April and the volume might slip to 4,000t in May. They produced around 15,000t so far this year and around 45,000t in total last year.
A Gansu-based producer of aluminum fluoride 61%min agrees the opinion that the best price would reach around RMB11,000/t (USD1,518/t) delivered early next month while they previously sold around 4,000t early this month at around RMB10,000/t (USD1,380/t) delivered. "The best price for fluorspar 97%min now touches RMB3,700/t (USD511/t) delivered, up by over RMB100/t (USD14/t) from two weeks ago," says the source, adding that the aluminum fluoride supply reduces and they now hold around 4,000t in stock, down from around 8,000t one month ago.
The producer, based on the production capacity of 80,000tpy and three production lines, is out of production in April and produced around 3,000t in March. They produced around 15,000t so far this year and around 60,000t totally last year.
