China's Q1 steel products output up by 4.4% YoY

In March 2024, China produced 72.66 million tonnes of pig iron, down by 6.9% YoY, 88.27 million tonnes of crude steel, down by 7.8% YoY, and 123.37 million tonnes of steel products, up by 0.1% YoY, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
In the first quarter, the country's production of pig iron declined by 2.9% YoY to 213.39 million tonnes, crude steel production decreased by 1.9% YoY to 256.55 million tonnes, and steel products production increased by 4.4% YoY to 336.03 million tonnes.
