Dianzhong Nonferrous to build recycled copper project

The environmental impact assessment (EIA) for a recycled copper production base project developed by Chuxiong Dianzhong Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd. has been released for public disclosure.
According to the EIA, the company will upgrade its existing production system and process by adding two rotary anode furnaces to replace the fixed anode furnaces. Upon completion, the project would increase blister copper production capacity to 252,800tpa from 143,500tpa, with the annual consumption of blended copper concentrate no more than 683,600 tonnes. In addition, the production capacity of anode copper would rise from 191,700tpa to 249,800tpa, and that of sulfuric acid would increase from 591,100tpa to 615,700tpa. The project also includes an expansion to production line by adding copper cathode production system and associated facilities with annual production scale of 210,000 tonnes. The total investment for the project is estimated at RMB566 million (USD78.22 million).
