BEIJING (Asian Metal) 12 Apr 24 - Following the price trend in the futures market, prices for Chinese copper concentrate go up slightly in the spot market currently. Mainstream prices for the material in the domestic spot market stand at RMB69,800-70,000/metal ton (USD9,646-9,674/metal ton) today, slightly up by RMB100/metal ton (USD13.82/metal ton) from the day before yesterday
A Yunnan-based producer said, "Deals for copper concentrate keep steady now. Our copper concentrate contains 21%min of copper. With the pricing coefficient of 92% this week, we sold 100 metal tons of copper concentrate at about RMB69,900/metal ton (USD9,660/metal ton) today, while our price for the same volume of the material was RMB69,800/metal ton (USD9,646/metal ton) or so the day before yesterday."
With an annual production capacity of 60,000 metal tons, the producer had an output of 3,000 metal tons last month, expecting to keep the output unchanged in April.
"We reached agreements with our fixed consumers that we could calculate our spot price based on the pricing coefficient of 92% when the futures price is about RMB75,000/t (USD10,365/t). We sold about 65 metal tons of copper concentrate at around RMB69,900/metal ton (USD9,660/metal ton) today, but didn't sign any order yesterday as we couldn't find trucks to ship the material to smelting plants, which are relatively far away from us. In addition, we sold 30 metal tons of the material at RMB69,850/metal ton (USD9,653/metal ton) the day before yesterday," a producer in Hubei disclosed, adding that their copper concentrate contains 24% of copper, less than 10% of sulfur and 200g of silver.
Based an annual production capacity of 9,000 metal tons, the producer produced 800 metal tons last month, expecting that the output in April would continue to stand at this level. They hold 250 metal tons of stocks at the moment.
. Insiders expect that mainstream prices in the domestic spot market would stay at a high level in the coming days.
