Aluminum fluoride prices in China climb

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 9 Apr 24 - As both fluorspar and sulfuric acid prices went up during the past two weeks, aluminum fluoride producers in China raised prices. Present mainstream prices for aluminum fluoride 61%min in China keep at RMB9,750-9,950/t (USD1,348-1,376/t) EXW, up by around RMB1,000/t (USD138/t) from early last month. Market participants predict stable prices in the coming two weeks.
A Shandong-based aluminum fluoride 61%min producer reports that they now quote RMB9,850/t (USD1,362/t) delivered as the best sales price and sold around 2,000t at the price late last week, while the sales price was around RMB8,850/t (USD1,224/t) delivered for 2,500t one month ago with the freight around RMB40/t (USD6/t). "We have to raise prices, as the best price we received for fluorspar 97%min now touches around RMB3,600/t (USD498/t) delivered, up by around RMB100/t (USD14/t) over the past week," says the source, who predicts that the price of aluminum fluoride might continue at the current level in the coming two weeks.
The producer, with two production lines and the total production capacity of 55,000tpy, produced around 4,500t in March and the volume might remain stable this month. They produced over 10,000t in the Q1 this year and around 45,000t in total last year with no stock now.
A producer of aluminum fluoride 61%min in Hunan confirms that their best sales price now stays at around RMB10,000/t (USD1,383/t) delivered including the freight of over RMB200/t (USD28/t) and sold around 2,000t at the price early this week. "The price increased by around RMB1,000/t (USD138/t) compared with the sales volume of around 1,000t one month ago," says the source, adding that the most competitive price they received for sulfuric acid 98%min rose by around RMB100/t (USD14/t) to around RMB350/t (USD48/t) delivered in the past month and he predicts stable prices in the coming two weeks.
