Ningxia Xingertai resume black silicon carbide production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 4 Apr 24 - A major black silicon carbide producer in China, Ningxia Xing'ertai New Materials Co., Ltd., plan to resume their black silicon carbide production since mid-April, expecting to produce about 3,500t next month.
"We stopped production since late November to upgrade our environmental protectional equipment and plan to resume production since mid-April", a source in the company reveals, adding that they plan to produce about 3,500t in May.
The company has an annual production capacity of 150,000t, produced about 38,000t in 2023 and expect to produce about 50,000t this year. They have nearly 3,000t in stock at present.
The current mainstream prices of black silicon carbide 98%min 10-30cm Fe2O3 0.6%max free C 0.3%max stand at RMB6,300/t (USD887/t) EXW D/A 180 days in Ningxia, in line with early this week. Given the weak market demand but firm raw material prices, they believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese black silicon carbide would stay steady in the coming week.
