BEIJING (Asian Metal) 3 Apr 24 - Owing to increasing PrNd mischmetal prices, Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) suppliers lifted prices over the past week. Therefore, the current Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) mainstream prices stood at RMB157-162/kg (USD21.7-22.4/kg) EXW T/T 60 days, up by around RMB2/kg (USD0.3/kg) from one week ago. Given that the Chinese PrNd mischmetal mainstream prices still show uptrend, insiders forecasted that the Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) mainstream prices would rise slightly in the upcoming week.
A producer in North China revealed that he lifted rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) quotation to about RMB162/kg (USD22.4/kg) EXW T/T 60 days and considered selling at about RMB160/kg (USD22.1/kg) this Tuesday, while he had intention to sell at around RMB158/kg (USD21.8/kg) one week ago. "I last sold one ton at around RMB160/kg (USD22.1/kg) the day before yesterday," said the producer, who faced difficulty in purchasing PrNd mischmetal at prices lower than RMB450,000/t (USD62,190/t) EXW D/P at present, while he could buy at around RMB435,000/t (USD60,117/t) early this week. In view of rising PrNd mischmetal prices, he forecasted that the Chinese PrNd mischmetal mainstream prices would move up by around RMB2/kg (USD0.3/kg) in the coming week.
With an annual production capacity of 360t of rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block), the producer's output so far this year recorded about 28t, compared with approximately 180t last year. He expected to use around 12t this month, up by six tons MoM. He doesn't have stock at present, unchanged MoM.
A producer in Zhejiang province disclosed that he quoted about RMB165/kg (USD22.8/kg) EXW T/T 60 days for rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) and had intention to sell at around RMB162/kg (USD22.4/kg) today, while he considered selling at around RMB160/kg (USD22.1/kg) one week ago. He concluded his latest deal yesterday, when he sold one ton at around RMB160/kg (USD22.1/kg). "On account of upward PrNd mischmetal prices, I had to lift rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) prices accordingly," said the producer, who foresaw further upward prices in the Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) market in the coming week.
The producer, on basis of an annual production capacity of 120t of rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block), produced about 10t in March, compared with around five tons in February. His output so far in 2024 recorded about 25t, compared with approximately 90t in 2023. He holds no stock now, the same as one month ago.
