BEIJING (Asian Metal) 15 Mar 24 - Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) lowered prices over the past week due to furious competition among suppliers. Therefore, the current Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) mainstream prices dropped to RMB157-162/kg (USD21.8-22.5/kg) EXW T/T 60 days, down by around RMB4.0/kg (USD0.6/kg) from one week ago. Given the potential downward PrNd mischmetal prices, insiders forecasted that the Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) mainstream prices would move down further in the upcoming week.
A producer in Zhejiang province revealed that he lowered rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) quotation to about RMB162/kg (USD22.5/kg) EXW T/T 60 days and considered selling at around RMB158/kg (USD21.8/kg) this Thursday, while he refused to sell at prices below RMB163/kg (USD22.7/kg) one week ago. He last sold two tons at around RMB158/kg (USD21.8/kg) the day before yesterday. "Dragged by drastic competition among suppliers and dropped PrNd mischmetal prices, I had to mark down rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) prices in order to gain orders," said the producer, who last bought five tons of PrNd mischmetal at around RMB430,000/t (USD59,810/t) EXW T/T 30 days the day before yesterday. As the Chinese PrNd mischmetal prices show potential downtrend trend, he predicted that the Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) mainstream prices would go down by around RMB3/kg (USD0.4/kg) in the coming week.
With an annual production capacity of 120t of rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block), the producer's outputs in 2023 and so far in 2024 recorded approximately 43t and 15t respectively. He expected to produce around 12t in March, up by eight tons MoM. He doesn't have stock now, unchanged MoM.
A producer in North China noted that he quoted about RMB160/kg (USD22.3/kg) EXW T/T 60 days for rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) and had intention to sell at around RMB159/kg (USD22.1/kg) at present, while he refused to sell at prices below RMB163/kg (USD22.7/kg) one week ago. "I concluded my latest sale the day before yesterday, when he sold two tons at around RMB159/kg (USD22.1/kg)," said the producer, who complained about the furious competition among sellers.
