Yantai Dongxing Magnetic Materials Inc.(YSM) expects the low weight rare earth magnet material expansion project located at Lingang Industrial Park in Fushan District to commence production in August as the first phase of the project is near completion after six months of construction. The project is expected to be fully built by the end of this year and add 5,000tpy of magnet capacity when reaching full production.
The company says the low weight rare earth magnet material is coming off the production line at its surface treatment workshop, and the NdFeB magnet material produced by the new segmentation technology reduces the usage of heavy rare earth by more than 50% compared with the old one, which can significantly lower the cost of NEV motors.
