CAAM: China's auto sales up by 82.7% YoY in Apr

According to data released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), China's auto production and sales recorded about 2.13 million units and 2.16 million units respectively, down by 17.5% and 11.9% MoM while up by 76.8% and 82.7% YoY. From January to April, the auto production and sales recorded about 8.36 million units and 8.24 million units respectively, up by 8.6% and 7.1% YoY.
In April, the production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) recorded 640,000 units and 636,000 units respectively, both up by 1.1 times YoY, accounting for 29.5% of the market. In the first four months, the production and sales of NEVs reached about 2.29 million units and 2.22 million units, both up by 42.8%, with a market share of 27%.
