NEA: China's installed generation capacity up by 9.1% YoY in late Mar

The latest data released by China's National Energy Administration (NEA) on April 23 showed that by the end of March, the country's total installed generation capacity increased by 9.1% year on year to about 2,620 gigawatts. Among them, China's installed wind power capacity went up by 11.7% to about 380 gigawatts and installed solar power capacity increased by 33.7% to about 430 gigawatts, both on a year-on-year basis.
In the January-March period, China's new installed photovoltaic capacity was 33.66 gigawatts, up by 154.8% from about 13.21 gigawatts in the same period of 2022.
In the January-March period, major Chinese power enterprises' power supply projects received investments of RMB126.4 billion (USD18.31 billion) in total, up by 55.2% than a year earlier. Among them, investments in solar power projects increased by 177.6% to RMB52.2 billion (USD7.56 billion), those in nuclear power projects increased by 53.5% to RMB16.1 billion (USD2.33 billion) and those in power-grid projects increased by 7.5% to RMB66.8 billion (USD9.68 billion), all year on year.
