Henan to accelerate transformation of secondary lead (zinc and copper) industry

On April 12, the Development and Reform Commission of Henan Province issued a notice on the "Development Plan of the Secondary Metal Industry in Henan Province during the 14th Five-year Plan Period", which mentioned Henan will accelerate the transformation of the secondary lead (zinc and copper) industry. Relying on the resource utilization enterprises of waste lead-acid batteries and applying the joint production model of secondary lead and primary lead, Henan will establish and improve the circular industry chain of "lead zinc smelting-deep processing-comprehensive utilization of wastes-recycling of secondary lead and zinc". Henan will optimize the structure of secondary lead-zinc products, support the research and development of advanced thin plate bipolar lead-acid battery, and promote on-site conversion of lead-acid battery. The province will guide secondary copper production enterprises to improve production efficiency, and develop high-performance copper plate, strip and foil products as well as copper-based new materials. Henan shall support key enterprises in Anyang City, Xinxiang City, Jiaozuo City, Puyang City, Xuchang City and Jiyuan Demonstration Zone to implement manufacturing projects such as precision lead, alloy lead, electrolytic lead, electrolytic zinc, high-purity zinc, zinc alloy, copper cathode and copper foil.
