1. Market Highlights
Supported by the higher prices of raw materials and strong expectation for demand recovery, CRC and HGI coil average prices in Chinese major regions went up by RMB50-100/t (USD7-15/t) in March. However, the market slowed down in late this month, discouraged by limited demand from downstream industries and weakened confidence from market participants. Export prices kept firm this month supported by cost, while the demand from overseas market showed some signs of weakening.
In the international market, prices in Malaysia, Vietnam and India kept firm or moved up slightly this month, supported by higher prices of raw material, while the demand did not pick up obviously.
