1. Market Highlights
In February, supported by the rising expectation for demand recovery and firm prices of raw materials, CRC and HGI coil average prices in Chinese major regions went up by about RMB150/t (USD22/t). Steel mills tried to increase EXW prices for March to avoid potential losses. Due to the increase in domestic market, exporters tried to hike offers this week. However, the depreciation of Chinese yuan weakened the price rise to some degrees.
In the international market, CRC prices in Malaysia, Vietnam and India as well as HGI coil prices in India all went up this month, supported by higher prices of raw materials.
