CAAM: China's auto sales down by 7.9% YoY in Nov

According to data released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), China's auto production and sales recorded about 2.39 million units and 2.33 million units respectively in November 2022, down by 8.2% and 7.9% from October and 7.9% from the same period last year. From January to November, China's auto production and sales totaled about 24.63 million units and 24.3 million units respectively, up by 6.1% and 3.3% YoY. The growth rates from January to November fell significantly from those from January to October by 1.8% and 1.3% respectively.
In November, the production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) recorded 768,000 units and 786,000 units respectively, up by 65.6% and 72.3% YoY, and the market share reached 33.8%. From January to November, the production and sales of NEVs were about 6.25 million units and 6.07 million units respectively, a double year-on-year growth, and the market share reached 25%.
