CPCA: China's passenger car retail sales down by 9.2% YoY in Nov

According to data released by China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) on December 8, China's passenger car retail sales were 1.649 million units in November 2022, down by 9.2% YoY and 10.5% MoM. From January to November, China's passenger car retail sales totaled 18.367 million units, up by 1.8% YoY, a net increase of 317,000 units. From June to November since the launch of the preferential policy of vehicle purchase tax, the retail sales of passenger cars in the market increased by 1.39 million units on a year-on-year basis.
In November, the sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) reached 598,000 units, up by 58.2% YoY AND 7.8% MoM. From January to November, the retail sales of NEVs totaled 5.03 million units, up by 100.1% YoY.
