ABB's biggest robotics megafactory starts operation in Shanghai

On December 2 , Swiss industrial giant ABB Group officially opened its robotics megafactory in Pudong, Shanghai. With total investment of USD150 million, the 67,000-square-meter facility is the company's largest robotics R&D, manufacturing, and application base worldwide.
As one of three ABB robotics factories worldwide, the new megafactory in Shanghai will provide supports to customers in Asia, targeting more than 90% of sales to China.
ABB forecasts that global robotics market will grow from the current USD80 billion to USD130 billion by 2025. China, as the world's largest robotics market, accounted for 51% of global robot installations in 2021, with over 1 million units of operational robot last year.
