1. Market Highlights
The domestic section steel and steel pipe market witnessed the price increase but rare deals during the month. Prices kept fluctuating the first half of the month as traders were eager to lift prices boosted by the rising prices of raw materials, but the demand from downstream industries remained insufficient and end users tended to purchase strictly according to orders for final products. In the second half of the month, stimulated by the upward price trend in other countries as well as the series of stimulant policies, both steel mills and traders raised prices further, and the market was full of bullish atmosphere. However, as most end users had already taken the Spring Festival holiday and stopped purchasing, the market performance failed to improve.
