The "2021 Coking Industry Operation" released by the Raw Materials Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on January 30 showed that in 2021, the coking industry continued to deepen the supply-side structural reform, and actively responded to the high price of raw materials and fuels, carbon neutrality and peak carbon dioxide emissions. The operation was stable, the elimination of backward production capacity was promoted in an orderly manner, and the level of green and low-carbon development was continuously improved, which made positive contributions to the overall stability of the industrial chain and supply chain, and got the 14th Five-Year Plan off to a good start.
In 2021, China produced 464 million tons of coke, down by 2.2% YoY, of which the production of united coking enterprises of iron and steel reached 110 million tons, up by 5.5% YoY, and the production of other coking enterprises posted 355 million tons, down by 4.3% YoY.
In 2021, coke exports reached 6.45 million tons, up by 75.38% YoY, and coke imports posted 1.33 million tons, down by 55.3% YoY.
