MEE: Temporary control on enterprises of heavy pollution and large emission during Winter Olympics

Liu Youbin, spokesman of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE), said at a regular press conference on Thursday that in order to create a favorable environment for the Winter Olympics, Beijing, Hebei and other neighboring provinces authorized local governments to take necessary measures in accordance with laws and regulations during the preparation and hosting of the Winter Olympics to control enterprises and vehicles with heavy pollution, large emissions and relatively small economic impact.
