Guinea's Kimbo completes first shipment of bauxite

On December 1, 2021, Guinea Kimbo Bauxite announced its first shipment of 173,000 tonnes of bauxite via Kimbo & Co. Port located at at the Fatala River in Boffa, Guinea, through cooperation with AGB2A, a local bauxite producer in Guinea.
Located in Fira prefecture, Guinea Kimbo Bauxite was awarded two bauxite mining concessions for a total of 838 square kilometers in 2018, with proved reserves of 498 million tonnes and prospective reserves of 1.5 billion tonnes. Kimbo & Co. Port, constructed and operated by Shandong Port Group's Yantai Port, currently has two 8,000 ton barge berths. The port is now capable of shipping 15 million tonnes of ore annually.
AGB2A holds two bauxite mining permits for GBT and AXIS in Boffa, with more than 320 million tonnes of bauxite reserves grading 45%min Al2O3 and 3%max SiO2. The Guinea-based company has shipped over 1.1 million tonnes of bauxite via Kokaya Port at the Fatala River this year to date.
